Downloading movies online has become very popular since its introduction and many people are slowly starting to tag onto the idea since it is not only cheaper but more affordable compared to buying movies when they come out. Movie downloads are quite appealing to those who cannot afford say a blu-ray player for Blu-Ray DVDs. This fact is well known and since many movies can be downloaded in high quality via online stores you can just see that the future looks bright when it comes to downloading digital content. Of course, as of now it is likely that HDTVs will take over alongside with Blu-Ray discs. But as the internet improves it is more than likely that we will see movie downloads become more appealing as opposed to the expensive discs.
The only current disadvantages to movie downloads are the slow transfer speeds, the internet has progressed a lot but in many areas there is not yet the capability to achieve fast transfer speeds and this can prove to be an inconvenience to some. But there will always be the high prices that come with buying actual discs as opposed to buying the digital version for a low price.
Currently we can only predict what might happen in terms of the development of movie downloads, but it is clear presently that the internet has much more in store for us over the coming years.
Of course, it will be up to you and the millions of other people out there as to whether video downloads will succeed and become the main source of distributing movies. Of course Blu-Ray DVDs seem to be the main attraction as of now but things could surely change in the coming decades as technology continues to improve.
